This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:16-18
MISSIONS AND OUTREACH
Missions and outreach are our response to the love of Jesus Christ. We seek to reflect His love in our community and beyond by meeting real needs and serving others with compassion.
Locally, that means supporting teachers and students in our public schools, providing weekend food for children through our Backpack Program, building beds for children who may not have one of their own, and partnering with organizations that are making a difference throughout our community.
Our reach extends beyond our community as well. Each year, we help provide daily school lunches for more than 100 children in impoverished areas around the world, and our teams have traveled to Costa Rica to assist with construction and improvements at an orphanage and area churches.
None of this would be possible without our volunteers who serve so graciously, the generosity of our congregation, and especially the Redemption Store, whose proceeds have enabled us to reach farther than we ever imagined.
We give thanks to God for every opportunity to share the love and mercy of Jesus—across the street and around the world:
